Your whole body, head to feet, needs to be in the picture. The coach will remind you if it can't see you.

How to do it

  1. 1Stand side-on with your feet about shoulder-width apart.
  2. 2Hold the bat with both hands close together.
  3. 3Keep your knees soft, not locked.
  4. 4Rest the bat near your back foot.
  5. 5Keep your head still and level, eyes towards the bowler.

What the coach watches for

  • Feet a bit wider

Your feet were too close. Stand with them about shoulder-width apart.

  • Feet closer together

Your stance was too wide to move quickly. Bring your feet in to shoulder-width.

  • Soft knees

Your knees were locked. Keep them soft so you can move forward or back.
