Set up your camera

Phone at hip height, about 3 metres away, filming you from the side.

Your whole body, head to feet, needs to be in the picture. The coach will remind you if it can't see you.

How to do it

  1. 1Pick up the ball and turn side-on to the stumps.
  2. 2Point your front arm at the target.
  3. 3Lift your throwing elbow up to shoulder height.
  4. 4Step towards the stumps with your front foot.
  5. 5Throw through with your whole body, not just your arm.

What the coach watches for

  • Elbow up

Your throwing elbow was low. Get it up to shoulder height before you throw.

  • Step towards the stumps

You threw without stepping. Step towards the stumps with your front foot.

  • Throw through

You threw with just your arm. Bring your body through the throw.
