Set up your camera

Phone at hip height, about 3 metres away, facing you. Keep the ball in the picture too.

Your whole body, head to feet, needs to be in the picture. The coach will remind you if it can't see you.

How to do it

  1. 1Stand ready, feet apart, hands relaxed in front of you.
  2. 2Bend your knees so your eyes are level with the ball.
  3. 3Below your chest, point your fingers down; above it, point them up.
  4. 4Watch the ball all the way into your hands.
  5. 5Let your hands give a little as you catch.

What the coach watches for

  • Bend your knees

You caught it standing tall. Bend your knees to get your eyes level with the ball.

  • Watch it into your hands

The ball didn't reach your hands. Watch it all the way in.
