Set up your camera

Phone at hip height, about 3 metres away, filming you from the side.

Your whole body, head to feet, needs to be in the picture. The coach will remind you if it can't see you.

How to do it

  1. 1Hold the ball at your hip with both hands.
  2. 2Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and knees bent.
  3. 3Lean in a little, weight on the balls of your feet.
  4. 4Keep your chest up and your eyes on the rim, the hoop.
  5. 5Hold still, ready to shoot, pass or dribble.

What the coach watches for

  • Bend your knees

Your legs were straight. Bend your knees so you can explode in any direction.

  • Lean in a little

You stood too upright. Lean slightly forward with your weight on the balls of your feet.

  • Chest up

You bent over too far. Keep your chest up and your eyes on the rim.
